Murray continues winning streak « Thread Started on Aug 18, 2006, 8:54am »
The British number one, who beat world champion Roger Federer on Wednesday, followed this up with a 7-6 (7-3) 2-6 6-4 win over the US player on Thursday.
The Scottish teenager looked tired during the match - his 13th in 16 days - and lost the second set.
But he found a second wind and stormed back into the game to clinch victory.
The 19-year-old will now play Andy Rodthingy, who he beat at Wimbledon earlier this year.
Afterwards Murray said: "That's the toughest match I've played. I felt ill after the first two games, which shows that physically there is still a lot to be done.
"I've played a lot recently and I'm not used to it. I've had three (days) in a row here and it was tough mentally against Roger Federer and again today."
